1. What is the Jouplast® rubber joist support pad used for?
The Jouplast® rubber joist support pad is designed to make decking construction easier by supporting and cushioning the joists. Made from recycled tyre rubber, it provides effective isolation against damp and ensures good ventilation of the structure, reducing the risk of the timber structure rotting and deteriorating. It also improves comfort in use by dampening transmitted impact noise.
2. How is the Jouplast® joist used?
The Jouplast® joist support pad is located directly beneath the joists to stabilise the overall structure of the decking. It must be installed only on rigid, flat substrates. We recommend that you space joist support pads 50 cm apart to ensure effective support and stability. Joist support pads can be used alone or in combination with a joist protection tape to improve water resistance and extend the life of the timber structure.
3. Are joist support pads stackable?
Yes, up to 4 joist support pads can be stacked to adjust the packing height to suit the specific needs of the project. Stacking makes it possible to compensate for ground irregularities and maintain optimum stability.
4. Which types of surface can Jouplast® joist support pads be used on?
Jouplast® joist support pads must be installed only on rigid, flat surfaces, such as concrete slabs or stabilised ground. They are not suitable for loose or unstable ground, which could potentially compromise the long-term stability of the decking structure.
