a question?

Our landscaping experts have the answers

1. What are Jouplast® ridged wedges used for?

Jouplast® ridged wedges are designed to wedge and level timber structures constructed indoors and outdoors. Their saw-tooth ridging system facilitates precise spacing and ensures maximum stability of joists, floors and other joinery. Available in two formats (90 mm and 170 mm), they provide adjustment from 11 to 40 mm, depending on the combination used. Compatible with flat packers, they are ultra-strong (crush resistance over 2 tonnes) and have moulded holes for easy fixing with no drilling needed.

2. How are Jouplast® ridged wedges used?

Jouplast® ridged wedges are used directly beneath joists or any other joinery component requiring height adjustment. They can be glued or nailed to ensure optimum fixing.

During installation, packers must be used to:

  • Provide clearance of at least 10 mm where joists are laid parallel to the direction of water flow; 20 mm where joists are laid at right angles to the direction of water flow.
  • Be spaced 70 cm apart (depending on joist cross-section and type of timber).
  • Ensure 50 cm centre-to-centre spacing for natural timber decking boards, and 40 cm for composite decking boards (check with the manufacturer)

3. Which types of project can they be used for?

Jouplast® ridged wedges are suitable for all joinery projects requiring precise adjustment and high levels of stability. They are typically used in timber decking projects and for packing indoor flooring. Their robust design and ease of use make them an essential accessory for professional and DIY installers who want to carry out effective, durable upgrading projects.
