a question?

Our landscaping experts have the answers

1. Why lay a geotextile membrane beneath the aggregate?

The geotextile separates the distinct sub-layers of the soil. This makes it possible to separate sand from aggregate, for example. The geotextile membrane also prevents weeds from growing in the gaps between the gravel.

2. Is it essential to use stabilisation modules?

The use of an aggregate stabilisation module is essential to avoid the creation of ruts by vehicles entering and leaving a garage repeatedly, for example.

3. How much aggregate should be added above the level of the stabilisation module?

A 2 cm top layer of 5/15 or 8/16 driveable aggregate should be added to ensure that all the cells are totally filled. Once the aggregate has been poured into the stabilisation module, it should no longer be possible to see the module itself.
