a question?

Our landscaping experts have the answers

1. Is it essential to use aggregate stabilisation modules?

The use of aggregate stabilisation modules is not essential, but it is strongly recommended for several reasons:

  • To prevent aggregate depression and spread: where no stabilisation is used, the aggregate can be depressed into the ground and spread.
  • To improve drainage: aggregate stabilisation often involves the use of a geotextile membrane to improve water soil infiltration, and therefore reduce the risk of puddling and erosion.
  • Visual appearance and maintenance: stabilisation modules hold aggregate in place, improving the visual appearance and making maintenance easier.
  • Durability and strength: aggregate stabilisation extends the durability of aggregate surfaces, as a result of its higher load-bearing capacity and resistance to extreme weather conditions.
