Our products in detail

Description

20 cm module in glass fibre reinforced polypropylene. This module can be used to create narrow MODULESCA® garden steps or widen existing MODULESCA® garden steps. The modular MODULESCA® system uses interlocking modules to create garden steps that can be straight or curving to follow the natural landscape. Once the structure is installed, it can be finished in wood, ceramic tiles or paving slabs. The result is that it takes as little as half a day and just 2 tools (screwdriver and spirit level) to build a set of garden steps. The system can accommodate gradients of up to 70%. UV and FROST resistant. Ultra-strong and rot-proof.

Installation and Application

Modulesca® steps must be installed on stabilised ground. Any installation on soft ground not previously stabilised and therefore likely to settle should be avoided. Installation on a flat surface: Modulesca® can be laid on an existing structure (vertical base, riser pedestal or sloping timber or metal beam). This type of installation is suitable only where timber cladding will be used and no more than 3 steps are required. Side-by-side assembly: 1 connector pin + 1 connector clip at 3 points (supplied separately in kits of 18 for 6 assemblies). Vertical assembly: assembly using a glass fibre reinforced polypropylene notch and slider system. Locked using 1 6×40 (TX 25 torx) screw

a question?

Our landscaping experts have the answers

1. What are MODULESCA® 20 cm steps used for?

MODULESCA® 20 cm steps are used to create modular garden steps. Manufactured from glass fibre reinforced polypropylene, they are ultra-strong and rot-proof with a load-bearing capacity of more than 6,000 kg. They are the ideal solution for creating straight and curving garden steps. They can be used to widen existing MODULESCA® module steps or to create new flights of narrow steps.

2. How are MODULESCA® 20 cm steps installed?

Simple and fast to install, MODULESCA® 20 cm steps require only two tools: a screwdriver and a spirit level. Having first prepared the ground, simply position the first step in the desired location, screw it in place and fill the module with aggregate or concrete. Each subsequent step is then easily assembled using the notch and slider system and the screws supplied to lock the modules securely together. For curving steps, the maximum angle of rotation for a 20 cm module is 10°.

3. What kind of garden steps can be created using MODULESCA® 20 cm step modules?

MODULESCA® 20 cm step modules can be used to create straight or curving flights of garden steps. Depending on the slope of the terrain, tread dimensions and gradients may vary. For example the maximum terrain gradient for a straight flight of steps is 36° (70%). For curving steps, the external radius of a 20 cm module and a single step is 1,960 mm, with a maximum angle of rotation of 10°.

4. Is it possible to customise the appearance of MODULESCA® steps?

Yes, steps created using MODULESCA® 20 cm modules can be customised to suit your own preferences. Once the step modules have been installed, you can clad them in your own choice of materials, including timber, ceramic tiles or paving slabs to achieve your preferred look. You are therefore free to adapt their style to suit your garden style and visual preferences.
