How to use the paving riser pedestal ?

STEP 1 - Site preparation

  •  If you are using the risers on a concrete , they can be laid directly onto the ground.

  • If you are using the risers on grass,  dig around 10cm of soil and line the ground with geotectile and hardcore (+/-15 cm)

STEP 2 -  Recommended Spacing

  • The risers are directly laid on the ground (no glu, no screw)
  • Leave a regular space between the risers depending on the dimensions of the slabs used.

NB : 1 riser under each slab corner

Dimensions of the slabs :

- 40 cm x 40 cm : 6 pedestals / sq meter
- 50 cm x 50 cm : 4 pedestals / sq meter
- 60 cm x 60 cm : 3 pedestals / sq meter

STEP 3 - Laying the Slabs

LAY IT...

  • On top or risers are 4 spacers, use these to position the slabs. .
  • If you prefered, these can be snapped off so the riser can positioned underneath the center of the slab Les écarteurs sur la tête des plots permettend de positionner et de caller la dalle sur le plot.

Step 4 - Adjust to desired height

TURN IT...                                                  and CHECK ! it's Done !

  • Use the 8 pointed cut nut to easily adjust, set and maintain the desired height.
  • Use a spirit level to make sure the slabs are kept horizontal.

How to use the decking riser pedestal?

STEP 1 - Site preparation

  •  If you are using the risers on a concrete , they can be laid directly onto the ground.

  • If you are using the risers on grass,  dig around 10cm of soil and line the ground with geotectile and hardcore (+/-15 cm)

STEP 2 - Recommended Spacing

  • Betweeen timber beams, leave around 50cm max
  • Under the beams, leave around 70cm between each pedestals
  • Consider from 6 to 9 riser every sq²

STEP 3 - Laying the beams

LAY IT...

  • Use the vertical lug to position the timber against
  • Screw through into the beam using 1-2 screaws per pedestal to fix the timber to pedestal

STEP 4 - Adjust to desired height

TURN IT...                 and CHECK! It's Done !

  • Use the 8 pointed cut out nut to adjust the height Vérifier la position de chaque lambourde à l'aide d'un niveau.
  • Use the spirit level to make sure the beams are kept horizontal .

STEP 5 : Fix the board/decking to the beams

  • Lay the boards across the beams
  • Use 2 screws to fit into place at each beam.

Decking and paving ending : riser for edges and borders

Two innovative products are to be used along with the pedestals when dealing with the borders and the edges of the terrace or decking.

A) The slab plate that is used to lay the slab against a wall or on the terrace outline.

  • Lay the slab plate onto the pedestal

  • Lay the equiped riser against the wall for instance, and lay the slab against the spacers of the plate. You would need to displaced a bit the pedestal.

If needed, the spacers on the plate can be snapped off.

B) The lateral riser support is used as a support for the terrace/decking riser and then, hides the installation.

1) When used with paving pedestal

  • You would have to wedge the lateral riser support on the base of the pedestal, screw it for fixing.
  • Interlock the slab plate to the top of the riser

  • Use an iron angle item to wedge and hold the top of the vertical slab that will come verticaly on the lateral support.

  • Lay the slab on the slab plate, against the spacers. You can eventually glue the slab on the iron angle.

2) When used with decking riser pedestal

  • You would have to wedge the lateral riser support on the base of the pedestal, screw it for fixing

  • Lay and fix the timber beams: et fixer les lambourdes :

a) verticaly, the small timber beam against the lateral riser support

b) fix the horizontal and vertical timber beam together with a screw

c) screw through the pedestal into the beam using 1-2 screaws per pedestal to fix the timber to pedestal

  • Fix the board/decking
